In my opinion i think Fiona Connor appeals the most to me, her work has so much simplicity but is also complex at the same time. If you stand at various angle to view the work you experience something different everytime. The perspective views of this work is fasinating and i really like it.. so my vote goes to Fiona Connor the materials she has used look as if she just used several windows and doors or maybe even mirrors which could be and interesting tool to play with. Her work is outstanding her thought process i hink is amazing and have not see anything like it before.

  2. Hey Stacy! My favorite artist happens to be Fiona Connor too, her work is really good and interesting to look at. I relate to her work, because it somehow reminds me of spatial design, how she uses her allocated space and produces a life size piece, is really great! Her use of materials are very interesting aswell, not only are they accesible materials, but they are also ordinary , everyday objects that you see around, she develops these objects and makes them into art. They can be also considered as an abstract installation piece which I find really cool too! Connor explores around these areas to produce great works!

  3. Fiona Connor, Something Transparent (please go round the back)

I really like this work because my major is interior and architecture design in korea. so I am interested about installation and when I saw works in The walters prize 2010, this work gave to me strong impression.
That is amazing pieces of public art in Auckland. I've never seen about like that before. it was made with mysterious space which was set by using a piece of trickery done with mirrors by Fiona Connor. Her work's material which can reflect to opposite side, can make marvelous space and we can feel that as if we are in space which has many flanks at her work, one space. Seventeen glass windows and doors are presented long distance that we can't go. After I saw her work, I realized that when I think about space design not only big of huge space can be good. Small space can make big space and small space have hidden many spaces like her work.

  4. Hye rans comments are really interesting and true. It is cool that the illusion of a large space can be visually created even in a limited space. the doors seem to stretch so far that you can indeed not go that far in (they appear to continue infinitely)...making the title ironic and quite clever in my opinion. my original fave after researching the nominees was Alex Monteith, however I did not see this work from Fionna Connor online, I only found some pastel paintings so after seeing this work I would probably vote for Connor too as I am interested in spatial design.
